Company History
Rodney Merriwether is the owner of Snack Man Vending, a full-service vending company in the Memphis area. He originally started in the vending business in 2003 on a part-time basis. That business closed 4 years later for several reasons. But the freedom of business ownership and the desire to create his own destiny pushed him to try again in 2008.
At that point, he started Vending for All with 1 vending machine that he owned. He aggressively and strategically built his business part-time while working full-time in the warehouse/logistics industry. He sacrificed lunch breaks and any time available after work to meet prospective locations or service current ones. This consistent activity and steady growth allowed Rodney to make the decision to become a full-time vending business owner when his employer shut their doors late in 2011.
Early in 2013, he changed the business structure and name to Snack Man Vending. Prior to the vending business, Rodney was focused on his career in the logistics industry. He graduated from Memphis State University with a BBA concentrate in Marketing/Logistics. He has held several supervisory positions with growing responsibilities at some large companies (Ingram Micro & Ozburn Hessey).
Rodney is your basic hometown guy with dreams of doing more, having more and helping anyone that he can to do the same. He grew up in a small town (Grand Junction, TN) and developed ‘ole fashioned’ values that he uses to drive his business today. He believes in community and strives for his business and social life to connect with the community to promote academic and economic growth.
